Burnt Toast adventures begin today

I’ve got two weeks until I get married in October, so I need to brush up on my cooking skills. What cooking skills? LOL. The only things I’ve ever cooked are eggs, grits, bacon (a minor disaster), and Duncan Hines cakes. Someone teased me about it, so I’m setting out to show everyone that I and any other gal or guy out there can cook if they have the right recipes.

I’m now going to try cooking dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—not in that order. It’ll be a variety. I’m going to try recipes I’ve gotten from friends, family, magazines, and books. Dean will help by documenting some of the cooking episodes (or disasters) with his VADO HD video camera or with still-shots of the process and results. Hopefully, all of them will work out, but there may be disasters along the way. That’s where the learning comes in, too. You and I will learn what works and what doesn’t.

You’re probably wondering why I named this blog “Burnt Toast.” The reason is –sometimes cooking disasters happen.  And who cares?  That’s the only way you’ll learn. The purpose of this blog is to document my cooking adventures, and let others know about the time-saving tips I learn along the way.
